Good luck with the campaign. The last thing Harrogate needs is another supermarket, especially as more and more people are shopping online.Skipton/Ripon roads are a nightmare most of the time and less traffic is what is needed(a bypass) not more.

Surely Tesco is big enough already? Really can't understand why big businesses like them feel the need to take over the world. Good luck with the campaign. Hope you are successful. A friend from Newcastle. :o)

Please don't link this campaign with one for a bypass which I think would be a disaster. More roads = more traffic, not less. It may reduce the amount of visible traffic locally (at least for a while) but at huge cost, and I don't just mean money. I believe there must be far more useful things to do with the site than another supermarket so am very opposed to this proposed wasteful use of land. In terms of traffic reduction, I can't think of a better idea than road pricing. (I'm not saying there isn't a better idea, just that I can' think of one)! Road pricing could be linked to reduced council tax so that the average local person would be no better and no worse off, and those using their cars less would be better off. The area as a whole would be better off as we could charge through traffic for clogging up our town. Surely better than tarmacing our precious green land to allow them to get past more quickly.
